The Personal Information you provide on this website will therefore be held by Brightside and they will use your information, for the purpose of marketing, contacting and participation in the mentoring project.

Information about our Organisation and Website

The Bright Futures website is hosted by Brightside on behalf of BP International Limited. This website is governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of your use of it.

The Personal Information you provide on this website will therefore be held by Brightside on our behalf. We have established this Privacy Statement to assist you to understand how BP and Brightside collect and use personal information. By using this website, you are agreeing to the collection and use of personal information in the manner described in this Privacy Statement.

 

Collection, Use & Retention of Personal Information

Your contact details (name, email address) will be kept confidential by BP and Brightside and will be seen only by Brightside and the BP Scheme Coordinator, and your e-mentoring coordinator - an individual holding a Criminal Records Bureau enhanced clearance, who is authorized by BP to implement and maintain an e-mentoring programme.

All messages will be kept private from any individuals except those listed above. From time to time, Brightside staff and your e-mentoring coordinator will review all messages to protect your safety by ensuring that there is no misuse of this website or of your mentoring relationship.  In order to receive and/or evaluate some services, you have to complete a registration form. During registration, you are required to give contact information (such as your full name and email address). This information may be used to contact you about the services for which you have expressed an interest. Each time you are contacted, you will be told who you need to inform if you do not want to be contacted again by that person.

Personal information is held by us from the date of collection for no longer than 7 years. 

 

Keeping Personal Information Accurate & Access 

We are committed to ensuring that your personal information is kept accurate and up to date. However, we can only make changes to your personal information if you notify us. It is your responsibility to let us know if there are inaccuracies or changes to your personal information.  Please notify us at info@thebrightsidetrust.org if there are any changes to or inaccuracies in your personal information, providing us with sufficient information to enable us to identify you, so that any changes can be made.

In accordance with our internal policies you may ask us to provide you with access to any personal data we process about you. If you want access to your personal information contact info@thebrightsidetrust.org. We may be able to charge you for providing such access.  

 

Security

Transmission of information via the internet is not always secure.  We cannot guarantee the security of your data while being transmitted to our site; any transmission is at your own risk.  However, once we have received your information, we take appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorised access, improper use or disclosure, unauthorised modification or unlawful destruction or accidental loss of personal information once it is under our control.  All parties are contractually obliged to keep your personal data secure and confidential. Direct Marketing

Periodically, BP or Brightside may request your permission to use parts of your information and your mentor/mentee's messages for marketing and demonstration purposes. In these cases, BP or Brightside will only use materials if your express permission has been granted; we will also change names to protect your identity.

 

Site Traffic Information and Cookies

The use of cookies is now widespread.  There are two types of cookie - session cookies, which expire when you close your browser and persistent cookies which expire after a duration.  Cookies are only used on this website to store information relating to your current session on the site (session cookies). This information includes an encrypted version of your username and a unique identifier for that session. Personal information is not stored in cookies.
